10 Teenage Girls Die In Canoe Accident And 4 Killed In Boko Haram Attacks

Families of 10 teenage ladies are currently mourning the loss of their friends and loved ones. In Taraba, 10 of these 14 youngsters were involved in a canoe accident that claimed their lives. They were travelling; on their way to a wedding ceremony when the canoe capsized and they drowned. According to the  Agence France Presse (AFP), they are still searching for three other bodies in the river where this happened. The bodies were discovered by local fishermen who fish in the river. The Red cross in the area reports that at least 137 people have lost their lives in that river due to the rise in water levels. Also four people were killed in a Boko Haram attack in Maiduguri.

Panic As Fuel Scarcity Looms In Ibadan,Oyo State

The motorists struggled to buy fuel at filling stations at Mokola, Agodi, Olomi, Ring Road and Adeoyo areas of the city.

Despite assurances given by the Nigerian government that there is enough petrol stock to last 30 days, hundreds of vehicles were on queue to buy fuel at filling stations in Ibadan, Oyo State on Saturday.
The motorists struggled to buy fuel at filling stations at Mokola, Agodi, Olomi, Ring Road and Adeoyo areas of the city.

 Mr Femi Ogundeji, an attendant at the Total Filling Station at Iyaganku, said the queue was due to panic buying as there was sufficient fuel at every filling station in the city.

My television encounter

I never wanted to be a TV presenter! It was by coincidence. I had always dreamt of being a big screen actress or stage performer. Not a TV presenter, I guess television chose me! I was a frequent listener of a show on Rhythm 93.7 hosted by I.K! I would call in often and one day, he invited me on air as a guest! I impressed him and from then on, I became his co-host! I heard about a TV audition, reluctantly attended and ultimately aced it!

My first time on air

It was on radio and was it breathtaking? I was nervous but had an amazing time on air once IK cheered me on. My first time to anchor a red carpet event was my baptism of fire; I was nervous, excited, confused and star struck all at once. It was a major event where virtually all the celebrities I had always admired attended. At some point, I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.
