30 feared killed in Ogun accident

NO fewer than 30 persons were feared dead in a motor accident that occured at Mobalufun junction, in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Tuesday.


Although, details about the incident was still sketchy at press time, the Nigerian Tribune learnt that a truck loaded with flour rammed into a commuter bus loading passengers to Lagos.

Other victims of the accident were traders and some commuters standing on the roadside begging for free ride to their destinations.

Reports had it that dozens of people, who were injured in the inciden, had been taken to the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode and the Olabisi Onabanjo Uni-versity Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for treatment.

A source also told the Nigerian Tribune that the remains of seven persons, including a pregnant wo-man, were also taken to the hospital morgue.

As of 8.00 p.m, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), police and the state Traffic Comp-liance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) were sighted at the scene making effort to save lives and evacuate the dead.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, could not be reached to confirm the incident.
