A suspected thief, Adewunmi Abdullahi, who tried to dispossess a photojournalist of The PUNCH of his belongings on Friday in Lagos, met his waterloo when he was ‘arrested’ by his victim and dragged to a police station.

The photojournalist, Olatunji Obasa, said the suspected crook, connived with another young man to rob him on the pedestrian bridge at Oshodi around 8.30am.

Blast rocks Bauchi church, three feared killed

A POWERFUL explosion on Sunday rocked St. John's Catholic Cathedral in Bauchi directly opposite the Bauchi Township Stadium, killing several worshippers.

Mikel Obi deletes twitter account after racist abuse

Mikel Obi today deleted his Twitter account after he was racially abused for 'costing' Chelsea victory in the opening match of their Champions League defence against Juventus yesterday Wednesday Sept. 19th.

The match ended 2-2 and Chelsea fans blamed Mikel for giving the ball away just ten minutes before time and also not preventing the equalizing goal. After the end of the game, Chelsea fans racially abused Mikel on his Twitter account @Mikel12Official, prompting the Super Eagles midfielder to delete the account which he set up just a few months back.

Chelsea said they have informed the police after being made aware of the racist Tweets. A statement read:
We've been made aware of racist tweets targeted at Mikel which are totally unacceptable, disgusting and abhorrent. We've informed the police and support taking the strongest possible action.

Corpse found in suitcase was suspect’s son – Neighbours

Neighbours  to Usman Inuwa who was caught with the corpse of a child in a suitcase in Maitama, Abuja have identified the dead child as Goodluck, his son.

The shocked neighbours described the boy as very smart and wondered what came over Inuwa that made him to kill his child.

Inuwa, a welder, arrested with the corpse of the child in a suitcase last Saturday, is currently in police custody.
